Ralph Farrugia Myles Palmers Match report 8/11/99 The comments at the end are typical Arsenal. We beat you fair and square and if anything Arsenal were the architects of their own downfall because of their poor discipline. No, we are not arrogant enough to expect to win anything as a divine right this season, but yes,the team will fight to the bitter end and if we do end up empty-handed it won't be for lack of trying. All the arsenal commentators so far have dismissed Spurs as mid-table fodder, but be prepared for a nasty surprise when we finish top six. Take defeat with a bit of grace,as we have had to over the last few seasons, and maybe other supporters will have some respect for your views. Good Day R.Farrugia,Essex
Stuart Sour grapes Myles Palmer How typical of a gooner to resort to 3rd rate put-downs when the truth of the matter is that we beat you fair and square. Yes, I thought Elleray had a bad game, but not for the reasons you detailed so narrow-mindedly. Petit should have gone long before he was substituted (for his own sake). I imagine that alarm bells are ringing considering that you have now lost as many games, and conceeded as many goals as you did for the whole of last season. Cheers Stuart
Anonymous Never mind. Arsenal won't win anything either. Sounds like sour grapes to me. 2-1 to the Tottenham 2-1 to the Tottenham
Nick Rees Arsenal's failings Myles Palmer and Arsenal fans should have by now realised that Arsenal are soon to become the poor relations of North London. The defence is over rated, over aged and fortunately for Totteneham, over on the other side. As today's Times said, 'Arsenal's problems, like their tempers,
are spiralling out of control'. The writing has been on the wall
for the past three years - as their players age and become slower
so their frustrations will only increase.
