Yes!!!! Powerhouse Diaby will partner Fabregas
By Myles Palmer
_______________ It looks like a typical Arsene signing. The player is 20, tall, powerful, skilful and French. A FANTASTIC FOOTBALLER ! Arsenal have reached an agreement with Auxerre for midfielder Vasiriki Abou Diaby. He is poised to sign a four-year deal, according to Auxerre vice-president Gerard Bourgoin, who told L’Equipe, "The player has made the choice for Arsenal and Auxerre." Diaby made a big impression playing for France in an Under-19 game in Belfast. Every English journalist at that game was raving about him. Diaby will be bedded in nicely when 2006-2007 comes round and he won't be knackered from the World Cup. But he is a kid who has only played 3 French league games this season. So, as usual, it's a development deal by the man who digs up rough diamonds. In time Diaby & Fabregas may be better than Vieira & Petit Arsene still needs an experienced midfielder, an experienced striker and an experienced centreback. WHY LOOK ABROAD ?. Why doesn't he sign a foreigner from a Premeirship club? In ten years at Arsenal he has never signed a foreign player from another Premiership club? Why not ? ____________ January 12th 2006
